Yes, this is our fun on a Saturday night. EXCITING!!! We decided to have a hula hoop contest, by the request of Makenna. Makenna has wanted a hula hoop FOREVER! I always thought of it as that one big toy that would get stuck in the corner, but Makenna was determined to get one. These were the contest rules:
1) You only get one try! ( We are the competitive parents)
2) We will stop you at three minutes, if you can last that long
3) The winner gets $5.00!
Makenna decided to go first. (We should have made her go last) Who knew she could hula hoop so good. Ryan and I were so amazed that we let her go for 5 minutes before we had to stop her! Where did she learn how to do that?! She said that they have hula hoops at school, and that her friend Hali has one too. I guess we now what she was doing at recess! So Makenna's score was 5+ minutes.
Second to go was Ryan. He didn't even stand a chance against Makenna. Ryan lasted about 5 seconds!! We know Makenna didn't get her hula hooping from her dad!
Third to go was Mom. I didn't do to bad. I lasted about 25 seconds! Makenna must have gotten her talent from a Grandparent or an Aunt or Uncle.
Last but not least was Haiden. He was determined to beat his little sister. He had been practicing a little bit, and was ready for the challenge. Haiden is very competitive! Haiden only lasted 18 seconds! To say the least he was upset! He wanted a re dew! Who wants to be beaten out by their little sister, right! But we had to remind Haiden of the rules. ( Only one try)
So the Champion was Makenna! She was so proud of herself. It was good to see her be better at something then Haiden. Haiden is always winning when they do contests or games! Haiden will say that he is better then Makenna at hula hooping, because he went for "8" minutes. That is Haiden counting his own time, and after practicing for about a hour. He can't accept the fact that Makenna can hula hoop circles around him:)

Who knew???!!??? Never underestimate Miss Makenna! What a hoot!!!! Can grandma and grandpa play, too?
You guys are so cool! It's funny that you say you thought she would never use the hula hoop and it would just sit in the corner. When we were in MT for Grandma's funeral, my mom bought one hula hoop at the dollar store and it was the toy all the kids fought over. So she quickly made a trip back in town for 3 more.
WHo'd a thought??
CUTE KIDS and you look great.
Love ya!
Your guys rock! I think Makenna got her talent from Aunt Tonia!!! Aunt Shelly and Anut Tonia use to spend hours Hula Hooping. And we were goood. I can no longer move my hips that way. It is hell getting old!
